i think you ought to check the label inside and see if they are women's thongs or men's thongs. your arguement will change depending on if he's crossdressing or not.
at any rate, i've heard that thongs are very comfortable, but will probably never try them myself. i think of them as "butt floss"
i don't know what your family situation is, but in mine, the person who earns the money that everyone else lives on, and own's the house everyone else lives in gets to make the rules.
personally, i wouldn't mind my 17 year old wearing a thong, but i would mind the sunbathing thing. for one thing, who wants to see someone's package squished into panties, baking in the sun?
