Is it normal that my period flow is very heavy?

I started my period a year and a half ago. The doctor said that it will start getting normal soon. The problem is that im getting my period a week earlyer, like every two weeks I get my period. It is normaly heavyer at the beggining then at the end but this time my period is very very heavy. I go through three extra plus tampons in two hours. Should I be concerned about this. What should I do? Is there anything I can do?

    I have a heavy flow too. I'm 18, and i got periods since I was 11. I have been having heavy flow since then. But since lately its delaying or I have it twice a month. It's become out of balance. I'm supposed to get periods today, but I still didn't get it

    Menstrual flow very from person to person but even so that seem very excessive. I say it's worth going back to your doctor and asking them about it. It could be a hormonal disturbance.

    Birth control helps regulate ur period, I had to do that.
