  • I am her friend. I've only known her since I was 4 or 5. It just seems a little odd and early since most people don't start having kids until their 20s (let alone have 3 before the age of 24). That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying what she did is wrong. And I said I was happy for her. She was the one who let me know about her family. :\

    • So you've been "friends" for most of your life but she had to let you know about her family? WTF?

    • You are young yourself so I realize that you are not aware that not so long ago it was "normal" for women to start having children in their late teens. Married women. Having 3 children by age 24 is by no means an oddity my young friend. My concern as her friend would be: a) Is she happy with her life. b) Is the father of these children in the picture here and is there some sort of financial security for these kids and your friend as well. c) Are you ready to give your friend emotional support, ready at the drop of a hat, if and when she needs it? That seems to me a more constructive way to approach things here rather than trying to pick holes in someone else's lifestyle. Either be a friend to your friend or butt the fuck out. 'kay? :-)

      • I am a friend to her (I try anyway) and no, I don't think the father is in the picture (It seems he has married someone else). She's single. I think she's happy though. No need to curse or think I'm saying she's in the wrong for the life she's living. I'm not trying to pick at her choice at all. I was just wondering if it was normal or not since nowadays, childbearing and raising is often put off until one's early-mid to even late 20s or early 30s. You even see people in their 40s and 50s having babies. She's currently the only 22-yr-old I know that has 3 kids. I was just saying it's not normal to me. But then again, my mom didn't have my older brothers until her late 20s and I wasn't born until she was 39 (nearly 40).
