Is it normal that my dog rathers sleeping on my shoes more than her pillow

I'm really concerned about my dog. She's a 6 year old Bichon frise/cavalier King Charles. She's always had weird habits but one of her weirdest is that she likes to sleep on top of my shoes. I tell her "no!" and she'll go back to her pillow but before I know it, she's back on my shoes. What is this? Someone told me that it's because she smells my scent, but I took that as an insult because don't shoes smell like feet?! I hope I don't smell like feet o.O

    She likes your scent. My dog sleeps on my clothes too. I heard its a comfort/security thing.

    My dog sleeps with her head in the gutter outside our back porch. Your dog sounds more normal.

    my German Shepherd sleeps next my bed on the t shirt i wore that day . i put shoes outside of my room or my room smells like feet.. the vet said it made her feel safe..

      Awww that's so cute :) sometimes my dog will put my clothes on top of her pillow or she'll sleep on my laundry bag
