Is it normal that my dad drinks beer watching sports and gets very angry?

I don’t know if this a a normal dad thing, but when my dad drinks while watching a sports game he tends to get very angry and throws the remote. I try to stay in my room because I’m scared yell at me.

    You're dad is probably an alcoholic. He also sounds like an asshole.

    Some people get very heated up watching the game over wanting their team to win, and often drink while watching which fuels their anger even more. It's also why fights break out at stadiums during football/ baseball games, and riots break out at soccer matches in the UK, Europe, etc.

    Definitely anger issues. Mix that with alcohol and it never ends well. You're doing the right thing by staying away from him. Does he physically or verbally abuse you or other members of the family? If so get the police or family services involved.
