Is it normal that my cotton pyjama bottoms stink after 1 or 2 nights of wear?

Predictably, they stink of sweat, stale urine and whatever else is going on in the swamp 'down there'. In summer, I can only get away with 1 wear before they're just unbearable. I'm not even living in a particularly hot country.

Beyond the question of whether this is normal (because I know I can't be the only one this happens to) what can you do to make pyjama bottoms last longer??

Wearing underwear under them kinda works but if it's the same pair of underwear as I'd been wearing in the day, it smells bad and itches, and if I have to put on a new pair, that gives me twice as much underwear to wash and dry, and if I use panty liners, said liners will sit in landfill for hundreds or thousands of years before they're fully decomposed, or they'll end up polluting the ocean...

    • Yes. Every day or every 2 days in winter, when I'm super busy.

You might wanna shower more frequently if you're stinking of stale urine in less than 24hrs. And improve your toileting hygiene.

    This is easy.

    1. For clean pyjamas, you need a clean vagina and bum crack.

    2. For a clean vagina and bum crack, you must soap up twice and rinse well.

    3. To soap up twice and rinse well, you need to turn your bathtub into a bidet.

    4. Watch this video, it's easy to do.

(Brain teaser: If you're clever, you'll think of a way that avoids the need for a shower stool.).

    5. (Optional). When you become proficient you can move on to advanced bidetmanship. Just google up "using a bidet for pleasure".

Easy peasy. Cut an 11cm strip out of the plastic top of a shower stool (I measured.). The edges of the seat will support your weight while you spray upward thru the center. A cheap hacksaw saw should get the job done. Why not use an ultra cheap stool from IKEA, like this one.

Can you buy a few pairs of new underwear that are specifically for sleeping?

It would only amount to a tiny bit of extra material in your wash, so you shouldn't really need to do an extra load. You could just squeeze them in with your current load.

I always wear underwear under PJs. Otherwise I can only wear them once or twice before they don't feel fresh enough.

You could probably sell them on eBay.

If none of the other advice works invest in some extra pajamas.

Normal for some people. Different people sweat at different rates, and then there are other bacteria that are influenced by diet. You might find that things improve,or get worse, with a diet change.

You are doing well. I've met people who sweated so much that they needed to shower and change clothing several times a day to remain "presentable" in normal society functions.

  • You could sprinkle body powder on your junk and ass

And is doing laundry more often really too high a cost to not smell like a sweaty ball sack

    • It is when you have my working hours and don't have the space in your apartment for a washing machine or anywhere outside to hang wet laundry.

        • As much as my teaching job requires... I've stopped counting.

By the way, I don't have 'junk' or a 'ball sack'. I'm female. I also don't live with anyone who could do my laundry for me, all my family live abroad, and in this country we have nightly covid curfew from 6pm so fitting in laundry is hard. In any case, the launderette shuts at 9pm even in normal times. I don't own a car, can't drive and would have to take public transport to a launderette further away... or walk for like 20 minutes each way with a suitcase or 2 of laundry. Thus adding an extra 40 minutes to an already time-consuming job.

I wish I could just hand-wash stuff then hang it out to dry, but I don't have a garden, a yard or even balcony space besides a little step and a window rail, and I'm not even supposed to use that.

So yeah, I'm not the lazy dude whining that his pants smell of his own unwashed balls, whom you seem to have in mind.
