Is it normal that my boyfriend sometimes loses his erection during sex?

When my boyfriend and I have sex, he sometimes loses his erection. At first it was every once in a while, but now it's more often than not. It's usually at least 5 to 10 minutes after the initial penetration but it doesn't matter what position we're in, he can still lose it. I've tried to look stuff up online about it, but most of it isn't real advice. I just need to know if it's normal. He's 22 and I'm 21, and we've been together for about 6 months now. We were good friends before we started dating so we're very comfortable with each other, and I have never once said anything condescending or rude about him losing an erection. Usually it just upsets me when it happens because it makes me feel like it's my fault. Of course, he says it isn't me and he says it's because he's either been drinking or because he's trying not to cum. I'm just not so sure, and I'm a little nervous to keep bringing it up to him because I don't want him to get mad or upset. Help me, please?!

  • You don't even need a lot of alcohol, I can have this problem after one beer.
    Condoms are also a problem.
And if you feel climax coming and you slow down or slap the tip then you will most likely go soft.

All you have to do to get him hard again is suck him off.

  • This has happened to me. I call it whiskey dick. If he has ingested a lot of alcohol then his blood will be thinner then normal. Making it hard to keep an erection. If it happens often with out ingesting alcohol then you may need to take him to the doctor. Also if he us on any medications then it could be a side effect. In which case he should talk to his pharmacist. That could be beneficail financially. In any case good luck.

  • This is usually nothing to worry about and hard to talk about with a doctor, but he should seek a doctors help. This can be fixed at this age. Good luck on your approach on encouraging him to go.
