My best friend is a gay male. Him and I decided we were going to get married because we are similar and have a lot of fun together. We wouldn't literally get married because that would be foolish. I have no romantic feelings for him, and I wouldn't even if he were straight. It's just a nice thing to think about being married to someone who fits your personality.
