Is it normal that i wish river pheonix would haunt me?

Not to rain on the parade at all but if someone died convulsing from a cocaine and heroin overdose, wouldn't their ghost also be in a fair old state?

I mean, I'm not sure how the ghost thing works. Are ghosts magically restored to the state in which humans most wish to receive them? And, if so, doesn't that imply they are solely a human construct and thus don't exist?
