Is it normal that i used to be shockingly shy, but am now quite outgoing?

I used to be very shy, so much so that I would avoid any type of social interaction, even with family. Now, however, Im a total paradox of my former self. I talk to everyone I can, even to the extent of public speaking in crowds of 50 people or so. Im not sure when this happened but it did. Am I the only one?

I was very shy until I was about 30 or so but since then I am not shy at all. I even do some amateur stand up comedy.

Same here. I was raised with 8 other kids and I was the quietest one in the group. I was shy, non communicative and this resulted in self-doubt, low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Now, I can be a stand up comedian. lol. I can walk into a room and immediately be the popular one.

It's a good feeling but there are times that I do feel apprehensive which brings back a dose of my younger years. Keeps my humble!
