I think you're right about war being natural, and the typical base causes for war. However, I would also include greed and lust for power as factors for war. Civilizations often want to expand and conquer whether they have a problem with resource scarcity or not.
You could say that's just the drive the survive again by preventing resource scarcity, but by definition, when the desire and drive to possess more becomes excessive, it's called greed anyway.
