Well folks, gun ownership will always be a hot-button issue. Liberals feels endangered by all the guns other people have, and conservatives feel protected by the guns they personally own.
Some countries are loaded with guns and have low gun crime. Switzerland is a good example (they have a civilian militia) and Canada (they are loaded with hunting rifles). If someone wants to be a thorough social scientist and pick through the data for these countries, they will find that the variables that predict gun crime are very subtle.
Until then, all these impassioned arguments based on hypothetical ideas are getting all of us nowhere. And, so I say to everybody "Fuck off."
Note: (I am an occasional marksmanship hobbyist that owns a small caliber sniper rifle.)
IIN that I think this way?
