See now, I think that the president acknowledged that the gun laws aren't as effective as they need to be, and that is why he says they need to hire more people to do background checks and work on mental health.
Here is the only thing that I want people who feel so strongly against gun laws to think about... think about Obama.. wait no... ANY president sitting in their office watching the news... "Another shooting... school shooting... etc..." one after the other. Should he sit there and say to himself... "Oh that's really sad... but that criminal would have gotten that gun no matter what... so we may as not even try to make it harder for them to get that fire arm. We may as well just let them have that fire arm legally without background checks because they would have gotten it anyways. Oh my gun laws haven't worked as well as I had hoped, I better just give up on them and not try to improve them." ?
I don't want to be in an armed society. I don't want to be in a world where every one has to carry a gun because you never know who might have one. An armed society is not the solution. Not in 2015... not with this many people... and this many angry people and psychos.
To be honest... I don't even think that many of those people who have been doing these shootings got those guns illegally I mean I could be wrong, but I bet at least quite a few had them without any legal struggle. Maybe Obama's gun laws are flawed, but then they need to be fixed and made better.
I respect the way you have grown up... I have grown up in a "blue" state... so my opinions will probably differ. I haven't ever shot a gun... but if YOU as a sane human being would like to own a fire arm because you feel it protects you, then I say okay! And by the way, so does Obama.
But if some dude over there has got a couple things on his record or maybe has a history of mental health issues, I don't want him walking into a gun show and getting himself a shotgun with no effort to stop it. Some will slip through the cracks... but it's the effort to stop is what matters. The part where we say "This is not okay and we're going to try and do something about it" That is my basically my stance.
IIN that I think this way?
