  • Sorry I didn't realize you were a guy.

Your name and the way you speak seemed feminine to me. My apologies.

Yes I was sassy but that comment wasn't to you. So for you to respond to it in the manner that you did called for my reaction. You didn't offend me in anyway or hurt my feelings so don't worry about that.

I don't necessarily agree with the word myself but there are people that act in a manner that represents that word.

Your surroundings and upbringing are a lot of the reason you feel the way you do about guns and all that. That is okay. I am from the south. Where we learn about guns and gun safety at a young age. You also learn to shoot and defend yourself.

The issue with the president is he has already implemented strict gun control that is not really being enforced. For that matter it doesn't stop gun violence either. There is data and statistics that back up the fact that in the states and cities with the strictest gun control laws there is more gun violence. You can't argue against that, it's fact.

The problem isn't the guns or the law abiding gun owners. The criminals already have the guns. There is gun violence because of drugs, robberies, what have you. Of course murder too but if someone wants to kill someone they will do it whether they have a gun or not.

It seems to me that there has been more mass shootings, rioting, and protest under this president than in previous years. So obviously his laws and gun laws aren't working. He has divided this nation and caused more resentment between groups of people then ever before.

It will and has gotten to a point that people are fed up. We want back what is ours. The government is getting to big and invasive. I hope that my fellow Americans will stand up and fight.

Everything this president is doing is one small step closer to disarming the populous. I won't go out without a fight. The government this president does not have my best interest at heart.

I brought up the boy from where I live because it is a valid point. Yes he is a hero and what he did at such a young age is beyond words. But for the president to use that to pull at peoples heart strings is disgusting. The whole reason that shooting happened was due to gang violence. Not some random person going around shooting people. Then for him to say "Btw the way it happens in Chicago on the streets all the time" is beyond hypocritical. Basically saying the laws I have implemented don't work. That is just facts. He implanted himself without saying it said my laws don't work.

I'm not a hateful person. I love everyone. I respect people's opinions and feelings on matters. But I will only return the same respect I am given. This president has done nothing to earn my respect. He has made us a laughing joke in the world. Things need to change. The libs have to be taken down.

    • See now, I think that the president acknowledged that the gun laws aren't as effective as they need to be, and that is why he says they need to hire more people to do background checks and work on mental health.

Here is the only thing that I want people who feel so strongly against gun laws to think about... think about Obama.. wait no... ANY president sitting in their office watching the news... "Another shooting... school shooting... etc..." one after the other. Should he sit there and say to himself... "Oh that's really sad... but that criminal would have gotten that gun no matter what... so we may as not even try to make it harder for them to get that fire arm. We may as well just let them have that fire arm legally without background checks because they would have gotten it anyways. Oh my gun laws haven't worked as well as I had hoped, I better just give up on them and not try to improve them." ?

I don't want to be in an armed society. I don't want to be in a world where every one has to carry a gun because you never know who might have one. An armed society is not the solution. Not in 2015... not with this many people... and this many angry people and psychos.

To be honest... I don't even think that many of those people who have been doing these shootings got those guns illegally I mean I could be wrong, but I bet at least quite a few had them without any legal struggle. Maybe Obama's gun laws are flawed, but then they need to be fixed and made better.

I respect the way you have grown up... I have grown up in a "blue" state... so my opinions will probably differ. I haven't ever shot a gun... but if YOU as a sane human being would like to own a fire arm because you feel it protects you, then I say okay! And by the way, so does Obama.
But if some dude over there has got a couple things on his record or maybe has a history of mental health issues, I don't want him walking into a gun show and getting himself a shotgun with no effort to stop it. Some will slip through the cracks... but it's the effort to stop is what matters. The part where we say "This is not okay and we're going to try and do something about it" That is my basically my stance.
