Is it normal that i think there should not be teachings about mental health

Ive noticed that whenever there is a suicide awareness, or schools trynna teach about mental health and youtube videos about signs or how to prevent depression etc that this isnt going to help more people or save lives but increase the rate because alot of these young people who are now suffering had just learned about what suicide and depression is because they were taught about what it was. If we never knew what it was in the first place young people would not be looking into killing themselves because when I was younger about 14, I never knew why I was so sad, but I heard people talking about sadness too much and even mentioning depression, I looked it up on some website about what was depression.. It had all the signs and exactly what I had and then it mentioned something about suicide me being just a young teen I even looked into what suicide was.. It mentioned harming and all that stuff that it all just got stuck into head that one day I remember thinking I have to give it a try and all thay stuff. See now I look back and realise its not teens fault for going through this but just how people put it out there for others to learn about it, if we never knew what it was we wouldn't be doing it. Instead of suicide awareness's I wish people could comfort each other and tell them they love them and all these good things and not mention one thing that relates to suicide because this could trigger people.

Well, ironically a sad person may have just learned about suicide and self harm from reading your post.

The world is a dangerous place and I don't agree that coddling people and protecting them from the bad things in life does them any good. People need to face reality and learn to deal with it.

I agree with this about 70%. Some awareneww is good but lots of people and organizations overdo it and or target the wrong demographics which is just giving people ideas like you explain.

Aside from the run-on sentences, the logic here is a bit flawed. Would it be bad to teach people about sex because they'll learn about it and want to try it? If those people didn't know about sex, do you think they wouldn't try it?

I'm sure they know about suicide before they learn anything about mental health. I was suicidal before our school mentioned anything relating to mental health

The education provided in schools, YouTube videos etc are sometimes crucial to keeping people alive and reminding them there is another option. It isn't going to drive anyone to depression or suicide because that's not how mental illness works
