Is it normal that i think the american flag is kinda ugly?
No offence to americans, but your flag is a bit ugly. It looks too cluttered somehow with all those stripes. It could need a simplification.

I've actually always thought it was the prettiest flag, lol. I love the colors, stars, and stripes. I also love patriotic themed stuff in those colors/patterns. I love color and patterns!
Needs more pink. Ideally, the stars would be replaced with sanrio characters like hello kitty or kuromi, and the stripes would be pink and white.
Be careful now my guy. Americans have their GUNS and FREEDOM and they LOVE AMERICA. Like what's next, YOU'RE GONNA ///SIT/// FOR THE GOD DAMN NATIONAL ANTHEM you MONSTER?
I think it’s just right but it’s a matter of opinion. Btw, OP, what’s your country? I’d like to give you my opinion of your flag.
Sweden. Some people dislike the color combination on that one, but I think it makes total sense, because blue and yellow contrast each other really well.
Seeing as how almost all Scandinavian flags have Nordic crosses, it’s pretty unimaginative. The American flag has 13 bars for our roots in the 13 colonies and has a star recognizing each state.
Blue and yellow are not complimentary colors though. It’d be better if it were blue and orange, but the simplicity of your flag makes me feel good about it.
As for all the other idiots, it’s just a flag. Get over yourselves.
Regardless of what the symbolism is behind each aspect, it's an ugly flag. As you said, it's cluttered. Mostly due to the stars and the blue section seeming out of place.
The stars have also proven to be unreliable. Let's say we eventually add D.C. or Puerto Rico (The most likely candidates.) to our list of states. That would require another additional star to be added.
I don't like the design either but a flag is a flag and it does have symbolism
