Human bred them to look more like humans (flatter face) and I think it's fucked up because a lot of them have breathing problems.
I think they're ugly too. There's nothing cute or nice looking about them, they just look like shrivelled little old men.

Pugs are monsters resultant from generations of misbegotten breeding, and they never should have been bred. They're so ugdorable, though. I love pugs.
It's called a Brachycephalic head and Persians,Exotics and Himalayan cats have it as well. I don't really care for extremely punched faces myself either. To be honest I see it not only as very unhealthy for the animal, but actually quite ugly as well.
