In the country I live in, prostitution is illegal in any form. I don't see what's so bad about it. I think anyone should be able to do what they want with their bodies, including selling it if they want to.
Prostitution is one of the longest living kind, of course it should be legal, it's stupid it's not, van you imagine if the government had buildings and everything set up for that? No more poor girls getting pimped out, well less for sure. They would be safe and comfertsble and everything.
In Germany, that's exactly how it is. All government regulated. All the women are screened for STD's and they have security guards and pretty much everything else that comes with being a legal business.
So what happens to the prostitutes who have STD's or otherwise aren't fit to work in a brothel? I'm sure they don't all just quit prostitution.
It's like any other job. If your unfit to do your job, they can your ass. Factories are hiring too. I'm sure they could go and work the streets on their own, if that's what you mean. I'm talking about the legal brothels.
Yeah, I am talking about prostitutes who aren't fit to work legally or couldn't get hired at a brothel. They're still going to sell themselves so how does the law affect them? What happens if they are caught? Has legal prostitution cleaned up the streets at all? Seems to me like it wouldn't really have an effect on street prostitution since there's a reason why they're on the street to begin with said reason would probably preclude them from legally working. I support legal prostitution but only if it doesn't harm street hoes even more.
Well, that's Germany, which has very liberal laws, jails that are better than most hotels and focus on rehabilitation instead of incarceration. Check out some vids on You Tube of the German penal system. Mind-blowing. As for what would happen in the U.S. is anyone's guess. So i really can't answer the question.
Yea, it's something stupid to do that. People are going to fuck for money, use drugs and all of that even if it's illegal. It's like piracy, they are victimless crimes.
It should be legal, there is no valid argument to keep it illegal besides someone’s interpretation of sexual morality.
I agree, as long as the participants are willing, safe & people aren't being taken advantage of what's the problem. Of course you would want the bordellos to be operating under strict licence, discreetly & with some restrictions. Until the girls & boys have somewhere safe to offer their services they are going to continue to be beaten & abused or worse still, vanish.

I think it should be at least decriminalized, I'm not sure how legal prostitution will help street hookers though. If you're a 50 year old drug addict with herpes who has worked as a prostitute for the past 10 years, you're not going to get a job at a brothel nor are you likely going to leave the profession so what happens to these types? And they're the majority of sex workers. Whenever this topic is discussed this fact is never really brought up. Yeah, a legal brothel is a nice idea but they're not hiring anyone with an STD or the old, ugly, disabled, prior felon, or addicted. They'll still be on the streets.

The reason it's illegal doesn't have anything to do with what you choose to do with your body, it's what you don't choose. legalizing it could increase human sex trafficking, or create loopholes for it.

Yeah it's normal. Even though I have no intention whatsoever of becoming a prostitute, it makes me angry to know that the government is telling me what I can and can't with my own body. It's with a willing consensual partner and it doesn't harm anybody, it's none of their god damn business.

Prostitutes unless it's like a cheap crack one actually are safer bets then the average woman, prostitutes insist on condoms, it's tgere paycheck bro, if word started going around they got something they wouldn't get hired, I used to know a few prostitutes and every single one used condoms, I've known many slurs and only a couple used condoms, I've known a few bar going girls that occasionally hook up, rarely did they use condoms. I know one girl who hooks up for free every weekend doesn't use condoms. Free means risky paid for means safe. Most prostitutes get regularly checked and shit. They are a safe bet std wise
Thats what I said, I said its not my thing, but for those who are in needs ts better for it to be legalized as licences brothels are more likely to have workers with regular medical check ups than unlicensed ones (which are the cheap ones and the sex workers are less likely to get tested, also using condoms on them are unsafe, condoms do break, and many reported cases of acquiring stds from unlicensed ones). I actually voted its normal just so that legalizing it ensures regular medical check ups. Please read my whole comment and understand it before judging it.
