I mostly agree.
However there is always the danger that the parents have really nasty opinions. They could be homophobic or be strong supporters of abstinence only (which had been proved to be ineffectual).They could refuse to buy contraception or make a gay teen feel ashamed of themselves.
I don't think that parents should be the only source of info. I reckon sex ed in schools Is important too. Having more than one source of information can help someone to make an informed decision.
Also I like the fact that I can get free contraception from the clinic. It gives the teen some independent so that they don't rely on their sometimes unwilling parents to provide it.
I guess my point is that not all parents are good parents and in those cases we need something else to educate properly.
But i recon most parents are good and overall I agree with you. Parents should teach their kids about sex.

I understand perfectly, but I think parents need to get over themselves and get their heads out of the sand, if that is the case.
I find it sad that schools are faced with the burden of having to teach kids about sex.
