Although I don't agree with you when it comes to all the specifics, I agree society is backwards when it comes to sex.
All taboos have to be removed from sex before society and individuals can start thinking about it rationally. Sex is still a very long way from being liberalised in any society I am aware of anywhere in the world. Even traditionally liberal groups are extremely, almost comically conservative when it comes to sex. I could wax lyrical for a long time because I feel very strongly about it, but I'll leave it at that.
