Is it normal that i think hipsters have ruined the beard?

Before hipsters, I associated beards with manliness and toughness. You know, lumberjacks, bikers, etc. But nowadays, thanks to the hipsters, beards aren't cool anymore. Actually quite the opposite. Now when I see a bearded guy, I assume he is a total beta-male.

    I've always thought men who sport beards are just generally lazy and don't want to bother shaving, or have a strange looking characteristic on their faces that they try to cover up, like a double chin or big nose, or compensate for baldness... but then came the hipsters and I'm thrown off by their beards and craft beer.

    Sounds like a bad association. People do a lot of stuff, you shouldn't associate a genetically inherited trait with what some people choose to do in life.

    Beard is beta because hippies wear it.
    Rap is trash because robbers listen to it.
    Weed is shit because thugs smoke it.
    Sex is wrong because homeless do it.

    Doesn't sound correct, right?
