Is it normal that i started smoking because i just want to die quicker?

I started smoking 6 months ago, at first i thought i smoked because i wanted a stress reliever, but now i realize that i actually smoke because i want to shorten my lifespan in a subtle, slow and painful way.

If you have ever held a relative's hand when they turn the machine off that was breathing for them, while finally they die from copd caused by smoking & the agony they go through, only then will you realise how fucking pathetic you really are.

It's stupid to start up smoking if you are wanting to die, why not just do it the quick way and jump off a building, or take a bunch of pills?

You have low grade depression and might want to consider counseling or medication

My quit smoking app calculated that I would live 2 years longer if I quit now and for the next 20 years...I would be more inclined to quit if it added at least 10 years lol.

Just buy some rope and hang yourself less expensive than buying cigs

Maybe that's why a lot of people continue to do it, they subconsciously want to die. So I'm gonna say normal.

Smokers continue to do it because they're addicted, not because they want to die. I'm speaking as someone with COPD/emphysema who smoked for decades and wasn't diagnosed until after I'd quit.

Sorry to hear that. It's very sad what the tobacco industry did to so many people, just sad. But for you personally, that's awful - I know you don't/didn't want to die. I used to smoke too, and it's so hard to give up ..nearly impossible for a lot of people. Until it gives *them* up...

I'm lucky that it was diagnosed early and now some years after diagnosis I've maintained the lung function level I had then, with the right breathing & other exercises and puffers. I just have to stay away from air pollution as much as possible, including other people's cigarette smoke.

That's good that hasn't kept getting worse then. And at least there's not as much cigarette smoke around now as there used to be.
Honestly, I still like the smell when I walk past it... But obviously I see how irritating it could be.

Its just dumb! Most smokers dont get sick and die until after having 30+ years of bad health and looking wrinkly and leathery. If you wanna take chances maybe skydive...its only slightly more expensive.
I suggest you try to enjoy life as we will all die sooner or later anyway
