Is it normal that i spend almost all day every day playing video games?

Okay so I know the typical answer to this is "no" but what if I'm pretty happy doing this? I know how sad it seems but reality just isn't good enough for me.
I do want more of a life for myself and I know that gaming all the time isn't gonna contribute towards that, but damn it's so much easier.

You feel happy now but in the long run you will likely find yourself getting depressed or really addicted and could result in something major. Playing video games are common. Playing them all day is a bit less common but can still be done. Playing them all day EVERY day is an addiction.

  • It seems like an escape. My addiction is social networks. Sometimes I feel bad about it but life does not give me other options.

    • Mid twenties, and tbh not really? Whenever I'm out doing other things I'm usually thinking about how I'd rather be at home gaming. Yeah I know how sad that sounds =/

If you want to be miserable, that's easy: do nothing. It's the path of least resistance. Videogaming is fun but it isn't fulfilling—you can't just consume if you hope to see yourself with any respect. You have to go out there and create things.
