Is it normal that i prefer wooden houses?

Wood has a sense of warmth and organic coziness to it that no other material really can match.

They’re not very safe or long lasting
Something I’ve very often asked myself, if u get so many tornadoes in certain areas of the us, why not built better houses that stand that shit and u don’t have to rebuilt them
Just get the whole floor wooden or wooden elements and ur good

    • Well, I live in Sweden, we don't have any natural disasters to speak of. The only disaster here is our government.

Aaah alright. But still isn’t stone keeping the warmth better inside?
Never been there, are wooden houses all over the countryside?
Haha but good one with the government

        • Wooden houses are the norm here in the country. I'd say approximately 85-90% of houses in the countryside are made of wood, a large majority being painted red because that is a tradition here. This picture here is a fairly accurate representation of a typical swedish house.

That's a very beautiful, little house.

        What if there's a fire?

        • We use coatings to fireproof it, or atleast, make it more fire-resistant.

Aesthetically, nothing can beat a wooden house for me.

I like a combination of rock, wood and modern bricks. Wood requires too much maintenance, stone is expensive, so I like to go for the best of both worlds.

This is my favorite house type:

This is a traditional Bulgarian house style the wealthier citizens could afford. I love this style, it combines stone, wood and nowadays, modern bricks, concrete, metal and insulation.

I love the idea of having a house that has a retro/ rustic look, but with a modern twist. You can even get companies to match modern triple glazing window frames to your wood color.

My parents have a house with this style in the mountains and I love relaxing there in summer.

I live in an earthquake zone so our houses are mainly wood + stucco.

Didn't you read The 3 Little Pigs? The stone house was the best.

    • Yeah, you're right. But we don't have wolves here who run around and blow down peoples houses.

Rocks are natural they come from lava and pressure over 100 of years given a sense of history and connection

    • Well yeah you have a point. Allthough, it still really doesn't feel as " organic " as wood does.

I do too, but they're not as safe unfortunately.
I'd like to live in a wooden house sometime anyway though.

I would much rather a stone or concrete house that's mostly underground

Wooden houses also burn down/ decay. I'm more of a fan of concrete or stone buildings.
