There's a persistent urban myth that it's illegal to flush the toilet at night if you live in an apartment in Switzerland. There is no such law, but it's possible that the rule exists in some older buildings where the plumbing is noisy enough to cause a disturbance.
My wife is Dutch, and she has an deeply ingrained habit of not flushing if she gets up to pee in the night. I've told her that it really doesn't bother me in the slightest, but she sticks to her habit, and I don't find discovering an unflushed toilet in the morning so disgusting that I want to make a big deal out of it.
As with most things when you live with others, what a bunch of random internet people think about your practice matters far less than finding out what works best for you and your co-inhabitants and maintaining domestic harmony.
I just don’t want to annoy others by doing it and I am pretty sure that it’s louder then most/Takes longer to stop making a noise. Plus I always flush it in the morning anyway.
