Is it normal that i'm scared to have sex because i fear i'll get pregnant?

I'm a virgin for a few reasons. On reason is that I haven't really "found the right person". However, a bigger reason is that I'm scared that the first time I have sex, no matter what precautions I take, I'll get pregnant. Is this rational?

It's not a rational fear, given the odds, but it is a very normal fear (or at least it should be). Unplanned pregnancies are rarely a good thing, no matter what Hollywood would have you believe. Take all the precautions you can!

Not really rational, just plan to use condoms or some other form of birth control (you can use 2 kinds of bc if you're really worried). And watch the time of the month. 14 days after a menstrual cycle (read: your period) is around the time you ovulate again, and when you're most fertile. I avoid sex around that week or am extra careful. There are websites and phone apps now that can help you track your fertility cycle too.
