Is it normal that i'm more interested learning about another culture's history?

I'm Slovenian and I'm heavily interested in African American culture and history. Is it weird that I would have more interest in obtaining profound knowledge about another culture's history while knowing just basic facts about my own?

Is It Normal?

  • completly normal, recently, i have been researching the history and culture of russia, during the soviet era. As an american, i have always wondered how the other half lived. In many ways we were almost the same.
