Is it normal that i'm looking forward to hurricane barry?

I live in Southeast Louisiana and I'm really looking forward to the hurricane that will be forming in the Gulf of Mexico. I have liked storms my whole life. I was 8 when Katrina hit and I was excited about it. I would be very sad and disappointed if Hurricane Barry gave SE LA a paltry or put us on its west side. I want the 20 inches of rain! I think the track is perfect the way it is now. I was thoroughly disappointed with the last few gulf hurricanes because they gave one paltry rain band each and that was it! I want a real storm this time. I need this hurricane to hit my area!!! My house has never been destroyed or flooded by a hurricane. I sure hope that Southeast Louisiana will get it this time! is it normal that I want this to happen? I have felt this way as long as I can remember.

I grew up on the Gulf Coast, and you talk like a jackass.

I suppose your attitude would be normal if you have the emotional maturity of a ten year-old, don't own any property that might be damaged or destroyed by the hurricane, and are so lacking in empathy that you don't care about how a major storm and flooding would affect others.

      • Not gonna lie, Boojum is a big part of the reason why I think two likes per day isn't enough.

Maybe the last hurricane that hit you caused you a brain damage. That is why you wish for something that dumb.

I live in Florida in the middle of the state so when we get hurricanes they're never as bad as they are on the coasts. A lot of people enjoy a good hurricane party. It's fun to stock up on food and booze and other supplies and spend time with friends and family playing cards or board games under candle or battery light when the power goes out at night. It feels like camping but in an urban area and is a real bonding experience. I had neighbors set off fireworks when the eye of hurricane Charley passed by. Definate pro move.

That being said I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Especially low lying coastal communities with a lot of poor people. New Orleans was absolutely devastated by Katrina, people lost their lives, homes, and businesses. It took decades for the city to recover and some families and communities still haven't. I understand enjoying a hurricane in a place that won't get ravaged by it, but somewhere else likely will though and you shouldn't want that.

  • Troll. It's gotta be a troll. It's a troll, right? No one can be this much of a tactless douche waffle.

I love storms too. It is inspiring to see God's vengeful anger unleashed upon humanity. Just put your camp gear in your car and leave town for a few weeks. So what if civil order breaks down.

I always thought, "At least hurricanes and floods don't typically happen in the dead of winter".

What kind of muppet wants a storm to ruin their home and damage all of their stuff?!

Just watch storm chasers bro. Crack open a cold one and enjoy storms from a distance. They ain't fun up close.
