I agree with you totally! I have been in those positions before, a lot of my friends are with jerks (At least that's how they have described their loved one)
But then I have also been in positions were I have talked to friends about issues in my relationships because no matter how great a relation is- there's always problems.
What I can't stand is "I'm thinking about dumping him/her ..." To me it's gross, and was gross even before I found out that my recent ex had thoughts of dumping me for three months before he made it happen.
As soon as you feel like you might want to end it, end it because something isn't right to begin with.
