You hate alcohol, because you were raised in an alcoholic family. Alcohol itself is not bad and there is nothing wrong with enjoying it. Abusing it is the real problem.
I like having a drink. A cold beer in the evening, Chivas Regal in the weekends. I have no alcoholics in my family and I really enjoy having a few glasses of whiskey with my mom and dad as we talk about stuff. It's a really nice and bonding thing. That doesn't mean we are losers. My dad is a retired businessman with three houses, my mother was a professional translator, before retiring and I have my own business and 3 cars. Not what you'd call jobless losers that piss themselves, wasted on the cheapest booze is it?
Don't drink, nothing wrong with that, but don't hate people who like having a drink, just cause of your bad experiences.
