Is it normal that i like to learn about someone a bit quickly and slowly?

I am a quick learner and I love to learn about other people the same way I love to get to know them.

An example would be: Lately on some app I have been chatting to some chick and I got to learn about her and we even had the same hobbies. So I quickly learnt about them but took a bit of time to learn what they like and dislike.

Though I am a friendly person but also shy despite learning about other people that I try making friends with.
