Yeah, Duke was big in the 1990s. He was especially popular with the 1996 release of "Duke Nukem 3d", which was the 3rd game in the series, and the first "1st person shooter" in the series.
In a way, it was kinda like DOOM, except he fought aliens that invaded earth, and there was a lot of swearing, crude humor, and such like that. (for example, if you click on a pinball machine in the one room, he says "I don't have time to play with myself!")
They even had "Duke Nukem Forever" for the Xbox 360, in 2012, but it wasn't as well received, and came out about 14 years after it was supposed to come out.
In short, it was a FPS game, that was essentially a parody of FPS games.
