I think there is a slight difference between beauty and modesty. You seem to not want people (categorized under "unwanted attention") to see you in a certain way. In essence, I think that you're just being true to yourself. The female image of "beauty" is probably expected to be what people see in magazines and popular media, but I think there are quite a few females out there (myself included) who don't adhere to the standard of needing to where makeup or show lots of skin to look or feel beautiful. Doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with either way.
