Is it normal that i have more discharge when i'm sick?

Whenever I have a cold (I guess particularly when my nose is running, but that's a given with colds) I have a lot of vaginal discharge.

I mean I always thought I had more than most people, but when I'm sick, it soaks right through my underwear and sometimes I can feel it squirting out when I sneeze or blow my nose. So... is the mucous in my nose connected with the mucous in my vagina or something...
