Is it normal that i have little to no interest in the olympics?

I have little to no, more like, barely any, interest in watching these Winter Olympics. I'm not a skier, think snowboarding is a hobby done by 18 year-olds, and is not a sport, hockey bores the crap out of me, and, unless someone falls down hard, speed skating and ice dancing are unwatchable. Show me a guy ice dancer winging the female around and letting her go, to fly across the ice and slam into a wall (or the other way around..let her fling him into a wall), some snowboarding kid go too far and land in a tree, or maybe those curling people not let go of the rock and end up going down the ice with it..

It's not a no patriotism thing..It's that I find Winter sports utterly boring, and half of these sports not a sport.

You have barely any interest? Try having literally none. I don't even have a clue when this one started or will end.

I admit, if not for a friend of mine mentioning it, I'd have totally forgotten, too. He said watched the opening ceremonies, and I thought, oh, yeah..Those are going on. Not that I honestly cared.

I get bored watching any sports, unless I've put money on it. So I agree with you. Except that I think people can call anything a sport, doesn't matter to me. If pissing in the snow was a 'sport' next olympics, I'd be alright with that.

You are correct in that regard. People can call anything a sport. I tie my shoes awfully fast..Next games, I want to see Lace-Tying as a medal sport. Can cut a mean front lawn..Medal sport!

  • I disagree, and there's no need for you to belittle snowboarding by calling it a hobby done by 18 yr olds.

Your lack of interest, however, is normal.

normal, the winter olympics isn't anywhere near as popular as the summer olympics.

So you're a ten year old NASCAR enthusiast that doesn't leave their house during winter. Unless someone is getting hurt you're not interested. Got it.

Not at all, and hate nascar. Have no use for hillbilly Southerners driving around a track. Winter games just bore the hell out of me. Thankfully, we have basketball, the NFL draft soon, and, though I'm not huge into it, baseball in a few weeks. Winter games suck.

With the time difference this year I already knew who one the metals and in what events. Watching any sport once you already know the out come is boring as hell !

No on should really care about the olympics unless you want to apply for it. Like seriously, that thing is super boring.

If you can't find value in sports where people commit a virtual lifetime to be the best for their country than just keep watching fail videos on YouTube. Successful people don't appreciate you either.

Never said I don't find their commitment worthwhile. It is, for them. For the record, I'm quite successful and don' give two shits what others think. Way past that point. Do I find value in snowboarding and watching some sexual predator win? No. Or guys on skis with guns? Nope. Not unless they're in the Arctic and doing it for food. And yes, like anyone else..I do enjoy a good wipeout on the slope or whatever.

Sports dont impress me, unless it’s the cream of the crop wiping out on half pipes, breaking hips on half pipes, wiping out literally on any track, or, yeah. Just wiping out.

I find the Olympics extremely impressive. Like wow those people are so talented!! And for people who live in cold climates, winter sports/activities are kind of a must to get through the weather. But honestly I don't pay a lot of attention to it. I think way too much money is put into sports (like NHL and NFL and stuff). There'res way more constructive ways to use money.

i still like women's figure skating. lots of beer commercials, flying camel toes and little naughty Coochie from Romania.

Anything except the figure skating, biathlon & the curling are worth a watch.
Anyone who is mad & brave enough to go hurtling down a bobsleigh track on whatever type of bladed vehicle or tea tray they choose is worth half an hour of anyone's viewing time.

Louge is like the baby that popped out feet first so there was a c- section required. Skeleton is the baby coming out head first on their stomach, still wrong but somehow more entertaining.

The Olympics is a dumb thing! They should do real Olympics like feeding the kids, mowing, or cooking!
