Sparkles?
the last thing the site needs to do is start making animated gifs for people's names so they can sparkle.
there are glow text options for html but those are, these days, considered outdated... and quite honestly... it's on the list of what you *don't* put on a website.
I've thought about making it free-form like this, but many colors are problematic because they might not be readable on different color backgrounds. So, I went with a fixed set.
well then again you can see the hex link i posted above. that december site is pretty good with their examples. been using them for quite a few years for ideas ;)
Well, I don't know much about coding lol, so I kind of have no idea about what you're talking about. It does sound cumbersome though.
I never said I wanted it to move or glow (well that would be cute but i agree it's a bit much), I just want a pretty, pink, solid, non-moving color with glitter on it.
IIN that I hate the colors we get to choose from for our name tags?

sparkles are fine elsewhere but getting them for a web page name... the amount of coding you'd have to do is a bit unrealistic.
the easiest way would be to use an animated gif but then you'd have to make one for each person and that's a lot of image space.
sometimes more is less.
as for the actual shades... that could be feasible without much additional coding. perhaps let people pick their own HTML 16-bit color combos.
I personally like 9944FF a bit, and some variations of that.
it's just the stuff the moves, or glow effects that would be cumbersome to code
