Is it normal that i hate it when people say "he is just a jerk..."

So last week this girl asked to go on a date with me, and I said no, nicely, because i'm in a relationship. So recently I was sitting on a park bench and I was slapped in the face from behind, and there was the girl; she was calling me a 'bastard' and her friend pulled her off me saying 'he is just a jerk' and another one said 'he is horrible, leave him alone'.
What the fudge?! Is it a crime to not be interested in somebody?

    I can not figure out why the girl would slap you for no reason. I feel like there might be a part of the story that is missing.

      I don't know why she would, either. I don't think that there is anything missing, but maybe i said something without knowing? Thats kinda impossible because I never talk to her.

    If you told her nicely, she shouldn't be upset. A guy once told me I freaked him out, yet he was the one trying to pursue a girl with a bf...now he was a douche. But oh well, it's in the past.

    Well, if you are in a relationship already, she was dumb to ask. And so long as you let her down gently, I can't see why they'd call you a jerk.

    The girl herself would obviously be a bit upset, so her friends are probably just agreeing to make her feel better. Don't take any offence.

    Maybe she didn't know that you're in a relationship and telling her would've softened the blow? If you did, then she just completely overreacted. Scary!

        Her behaviour was totally out of order. That girl must have some serious issues. Who knows, maybe she's delusional and thought you were into her. Definitely NOT normal!
