Is it normal that i hate it when my mom speaks so loud on her phone?

So I'm trying to mind my business downstairs and she has the speaker on her phone and I can't even hear the fucking telly because she is talking in her language ( for those wondering my mother speaks Swahili ) and when I tell her to lower the volume she gets angry. She's just inconsiderate of other people and sometimes I feel like she can be a jerk by not being mindful, in this situation for me is 10x worse than hearing my dad speak ( an example of this happening is that I'm upstairs and I can hear my dad talking loudly in his strong Trini accent. ) ( I am sorry if this is a bit out of context ) but anyone who is in a similar situation like me would probably know how much annoying this is.

When I also tell her to please take her conversation elsewhere she gets mad at me she always makes a face when I talk normally on the phone without the speakers.

I'd say they're your parents and it's their house. Just gonna have to deal til you get your own place. Might have to try and bridge the issue with them respectfully.

I guess I'll need to wait when I'm ready (when the time is right )to move out of my parents house then.

My mum likes to shout on speaker phone. I don't know if you have to, but she certainly does.

Yes, it's normal to be annoyed by it. Sometimes my mom talks a bit too loud too, but when I tell her about it, she tries to speak more quietly. Maybe try to politely speak to your mom and tell her how it makes you feel and ask if she could try to change it.

Yes. My wife does the same thing and I hate it. I ask her why she just doesn’t yell out the window.

It will get louder as she gets older. Good luck.

You might try to get some really good hearing aids fitted for your mom. Then she can use normal volumns.

A reality is that most people loose hearing as they age - so this is not an uncommon issue.

You need to learn to adjust or provide appropriate accommodations for elderly family and friends. Your time is coming.

But the thing is she can hear ok but she just chooses to be inconsiderate of others in my house.

My mom's that way too. Not forgetting all her siblings and friends.

I hate having to deal with my mothers side of the family since most of them talk loud just like her.

Well I'm thinking about it but I don't think I'm ready yet to move out.
