no, not at all. I would presume homophobia in history has its roots from people like myself, who were not pressurised by society into gay acceptance, so they had nothing to loose when they hated them publicly.
That's probably it. A lot of holy books and scriptures speak of how terrible homosexuality is. Somebody must've hated them before then in order to put such into their beliefs in the first place.
