Is it normal that i hate bad english grammar and it's not my native language?

Every fucking time when someone speaks lik dis cuz its so cool I want to punch them in the face. And the most irritating thing is when they're American and spell worse than me. I mean my english isn't the best but at least TRY! I always care about my english grammar but in school I'm horrible at my native language. IIN?

  • I hate it as well. I can't wrap my head as to why people write like that. Is it because they are lazy and don't give a shit? Do they not know any better? Or, do they somehow think that it is cool? Do they read this "language style" with ease or do they find it difficult?

  • I think frustrations about bad grammer is a symptom of obssesive compulsiver disorder. You should get that checked out.

  • I guess because we (non native speakers) learnt the language in a class room setting as oppose from growing up with the language.

The problem with English classes, we don't normally learn English colloquialism which does play a large part in everyday conversation. I'm often lost when native speakers go lingo in the chatroom.

  • I often think that people who learn English as an additional language have better grammar. People who grew up with English often communicate without knowing the structure of their language. It's down to laziness. Perhaps this is true of other languages too, although I've often noticed that Asian languages are much better structured and more logical, leaving less scope for laziness.

    • Which Asian languages?

      • The two I was thinking about when I wrote this are Mandarin and Tagalog (from what little I know). Cantonese too, to an extent, because of the shared vocab with Mandarin, but Cantonese has a disconnect between the written and spoken language.

English is much more porous and less impervious to influence from other languages. Makes it interesting in many ways, but much less logical.
