Is it normal that i get upset that men expect women to be completely shaved ?

Some of us men like women to have a hairy pussy and armpits.

The removal of pubic hair goes back to at least ancient Egypt. Images of women with apparently "neatly trimmed" bushes have been found in the tombs of Egyptian women, along with bronze razors.

I also remember reading that (I think) either the Minoans or Mycenaeans (maybe both) routinely removed ALL body hair (males and females).

Anthropologists have theorised that this may have arisen for hygiene reasons - hair traps sweat and dirt in warm climates, and its absence also helps prevent infestation by lice etc.

While this may not be applicable today, I by far prefer a woman to be "trimmed", if not actually shaven/waxed.

My reasoning is quite selfish -

1) I don't like hair getting caught in my teeth/mouth/throat while I'm going down on a woman.

2) I have found that "au natural" women who are not quite so fastidious with personal hygiene tend to get "aromatic" sooner than shaved women.

3) I actually find having long stray pubic hairs scraping down the side of my cock mildly irritating.

Oh, and FYI, I keep my public hair closely trimmed, and am happy to shave if my partner requests.

If men have a problem with your pubic hairstyle maybe try not taking your pants off so fast. They should be so into YOU they couldn't care less what your pubes look like. Works for me just saying.

Shaving or waxing is a personal preference, and you are in no way obligated to do it.

For some, it's a turn off, and reminds them of pre-pubescence. Some prefer the scent and feel of a full 70's bush.

For others, bare is a turn on. Pubic hair can trap odor, and get stuck in the teeth during oral.

There's always the in-between, best of both worlds

I personally prefer to be bare. I don't like the smell and the feeling of having pubic hair. Sometimes I get irritation from shaving/waxing, and I trim instead.

I prefer my man to be shaved or at least trimmed as well.

Again, it's a preference. Some people are aroused by pubic hair and the smell associated with it. I'm not one of those people. As neuro said, shaving makes me feel clean.

It just seems cleaner. Whether or not it is, I don't know for sure, I shave completely and I've never had an any sort of infection or issue with hygiene down there. It might be more perception than anything else.

Women are just expected to be cleaner and present themselves as cleaner. I don't feel ya in the shaving department but I do feel ya in terms of the double standard. A lot of men seem to want women who can do "masculine" things like work on cars or outdoorsmanship but they also want a woman who can still look hot and sexy while doing it when the reality is far different from the pictures, movies, TV shows etc. Luckily, I rarely find myself dealing with those guys. Most men I encounter who prefer women who can hang don't give a damn what she looks like just so long as she can clean up well.

Firstly, your body belongs to you. You do what makes you feel sexy. If a guy doesn't appreciate your own security and asks you to do something that you don't prefer, to hell with him. It's normal to feel this way. I don't shave it all off, I merely trim/shape mine. My boyfriend was bothered by it at first, but has gotten used to it. If it's trimmed close enough, no hairs will get into his mouth.
