In the UK, we have ads for cough syrup, antihistamines, cold 'remedies' and the like.
But that's only over-the-counter stuff, nothing you need a prescription for, nothing 'hard' or particularly addictive.
And these adverts aren't that often, either; We get more ads about insurance comparison sites, shampoo ('with added nutra-super-proti-enhanca-califragilistic-exfoli-alidotious!'), sofa and kitchen companies ('Sale permanently on!') etc.
So I don't share your feelings, but then I expect it's different here. Also, a lot of drugs are synthesised from naturally occurring substances, and sold in a concentrated form, so you saying 'herbs heal a lot cheaper and healthier' is misleading. Antibiotics are the perfect example of pharmaceutical companies taking naturally occurring substances and turning them into something that can be safely sold and used by the public to overcome many once-fatal ailments (among other non-fatal infections).
IIN that I get so annoyed at pharmaceutical commercials?
