Is it normal that i get really pissed when i'm not invited to something.

Is it normal that whenever I some one that I know in any context coworker, friend of a friend, neighbor discuss doing something in front within my ear range I get really infuriated if they don't invite me? I feel really hurt sometimes to the point of needing to leave the room and cry. I don't know why, but I instantly feel like they are leaving me out because they hate me or want to hurt me.

I do this, too. It's insecurity, I think. But, picture yourself having a party. There's always someone you overlook- ie, I overlook my straightedge friends when I have a party with alcohol. I love them, I'd never want to hurt them or ostracize them. They're just overlooked, you know? We all are, at times. It's just the human condition.

I get pretty upset when I'm left out. At my last job, these girls planned little parties all the time and always left out my friend and I. Bitches! But we had our own fun, and we were probably better off. But it still hurt.

  • You are probably being a bit too sensitive but there may be truth if the reason you constantly feel left out because you are left out.

You may need to look at asserting yourself: speak up by inviting them to something you are doing or initiating or say something like "Hey, that sounds like fun. Is there room for another?"
