Is it normal that i forget names alot

ok so you know those family members and friends that you dont meet often (2-10 times a year)? well i always forget their names for some reason, its like i do remember the person and my memories with him and such from seeing his face, but when it comes to the name i always forget, and sometimes when they say tell your dad they said hi im like "uhh..ye..yeah sure can you uhh...tell me your uhh..name?.w..was it bill? or bob?" "my name is steve,how can you forget my name im your uncle!" so is this normal and does anyone else suffer from this?

    I forget names too, though I also tend to forget faces. It's pretty normal since you rarely see them.
