Is it normal that i feel sick when i see a series of holes together?

I don't know why but I feel sick and can't deal with it. Type in Google, "Holes hands"....

That shit traumatises me and makes me puke. The same goes for honeycombs.

Is It Normal?

  • How do you feel about lotus pods? Or the aftermath of mango worms??

Im more concerned with sinkholes in the earth. I knew it would happen some day. We are all gonna fall into the abyss that we dug out for resources, and also other naturally occurring things. Me no likey.

  • I think most people feel at least a twinge of discomfort when they see those holey things, but some people have an extreme reaction.

It's been a while since I read about trypophobia, but my recollection is that it's been suggested it might be due to an instinctive aversion to a pattern of holes because this can be a sign of disease. I believe it's also suspected there's a link between trypophobia and OCD.

    • It absolutely is not common, most people think “oh some holes” and nothing more lol. It wouldn’t even register as a thing for most

    • As I've mentioned before, we're beekeepers. I'm not seriously trypophobic, but I do feel mild discomfort when looking at holey things that freak some people out.

Honeycomb doesn't bother me at all, but looking at the frames from the part of the hive where the bees raise their young can bother me a little. The comb in that part of the hive can get very dark - almost black - after the bees have used it for a couple of years, and at some times during the year there can be a lot of empty cells. Some colonies don't nibble the wax around the top of the cells back so the entrance is a neat hexagon, but instead leave a rounded lip around the top, each of which merges neatly with the lip around adjoining cells, so what you see is a pattern of circular holes.
