Is it normal that i feel extremely cheap to go along the lifestyle of my friend

Honestly, my friend is ballin. Compared to me anyways. She receives a 50 dollar allowance a week from her dad who lives far away, and when she does see him he takes her shopping and shit. She always eats out(I usually bring lunch now) and she has credit cards which makes online shopping a breeze. I forgot to mention she applied to 20 universities without a fee waiver and will go to a UC no loans needed.
Me however, have no job or allowance and I have to look forward to my birthday and christmas for money.
She wants me and her to go to this meet up out of town where we have to dress in expensive costumes. Including the actual ticket to get in, wigs, shoes, etc. I don't have a steady amount of money. Like if I spend money for this event now, I'll never see that amount in months. My friend already bought 300 dollars worth for the costumes. I got mine for 15 bucks but its pretty plain.
To top it all off, in the summer, we are going to this expo where it is crucial to invest in a minimum 300 dollar cosplay plus tickets.
I kept to myself before high school with no close friends and I never realized how much money I had then compared to now. Now, I'm always short on money.
She's a good friend, but honestly I'm so broke it is slowly killing me.

Hahaha ballin...$50/week. Wow. There's so much wrong here. Why don't you have a job?

Oh. That's very odd. If you're old enough and have a way to get to and from work, I would try to get a job anyway. I'm having a problem understanding why a parent wouldn't want their kid to work.

If you are old enough to use this site, then you are old enough to do whatever you want with out your parent's permission.

She's really rich...but why is this a problem? Get a job or something, babysitting, helping out at programs, etc.
Don't let her boss you around and such. And don't think you're "cheap", because working hard for your goals is much better than just getting whatever you want all the time.

She's not a very good friend if she doesn't realise that you don't have the money to do these things. And why can't you tell her that you don't have the money. My friends ask me to do expensive stuff but when I can't afford it then I tell them. They understand and we do something cheaper instead.

Maybe you can invite her to participate in less cosstly activities where you'd feel more at ease or simply tell your friend that you have not enough money to support this lifestyle.
