Is it normal that i don't yawn when other people do?

I've heard that when you see someone yawning or even read the word, it will make you want to yawn. When I observed my actions though, I have realized I don't possess even a bit of desire to yawn myself.

I've seen this occurring in real life plenty of times and seen people yawn after I have done it, but I just don't have the need to yawn when I see others do it. I'm curious how many people are are like this and what might it be linked to.

Here's something yawn-immunity has been shown to be linked to:

    Autism, too.

So a nice pair of labels for you to try on.

  • Actually yawned after reading the title.

No idea what causes it, but know it’s common, I yawn every time I see someone yawn and hear/see the word yawn. Just yawned again!

Maybe you have super (yawn!!!) powers or maybe we are just we(YAWN!!!)ak

    • Haha, thought someone would.
It could probably be like when you turn your legs in the direction of the person you're talking to? Because it just happens naturally, right? :D
Maybe something to do with empathy?

My cat, and I state into each other's eyes, do the slow blink and yawn together all the time.
