Is it normal that i don't want to be depressed or happy right now ?

I've been depressed for awhile. I hate it and don't want to be this way anymore. But I don't expect to be instantly happy, and neither am I in the mood to be. I just want to get through whatever comes my way until I'm content enough to be happy. I'm confused.

Is It Normal?

  • I can say from experience that getting past depression enough to feel better usually will take some meds. I have dealt with depression on and off for 30 years after being sexually assaulted by my boss in the Navy. Depression can be treated, you can feel better, and there is life outside your 4 walls. The belief is depression stems from chemical imbalance of serotonin or dopamine. See your Dr.

  • Maybe you should discuss this with your psychiatrist, perhaps you might need a mood stabilizer. You certainly don't feel like you might suffer from Bipolar Disorder, do you?

    • No. I'm just not where I want to be in life. I overthink bc of it.
