It's normal. I mean I'm a girl, but I'd still say wrap it, because there's no way in hell I'm popping one out any time soon, and besides I wouldn't want to put that emotional stress on a guy.
However, if you don't wear one, and if she does accidentally get pregnant from that 1%, you gotta figure out if you'd be willing to be a Popsicle, or stick with her during the pregnancy. If your answers no, then I say keep wearing a condom and just explain to her that it's not that you don't trust her, it's that possible 1% chance, as well as a bunch of other factors that could possibly happen, ex: strong swimmers, missed a pill, (if she was sick) medication while on the pill, etc..
