What finally convinced the professional psychologist that at least some people are born homosexual and some are born heterosexual is that there are actual physical brain structure differences between people who have always felt hetro vs homo.
Then there is a group who's brain structure is between those 2 clear cases... and most of the homo vs hetro experimentation and people who are happy with both sexual experiences exist in that group. There is some evidence(rather small in size vs the population) that how a person(nurture) is raised may affect this middle group to some degree. Note that this evidence is fairly limited and only seems to apply to some. In general, the much larger evidence is that for most people how they are raised (nurture) does not affect their sexuality.
However, the brain structure differences are clearly evident between pure hetro's and pure homo's.
Of course, you can choose to believe what you will. You don't have to believe in gravity. That will not prevent gravity from plunging you to your death if you walk of a tall building or other suitably tall structure.
IIN that I don't think people are born gay?
